It's been awhile for Vancouver’s No Sinner. The band made their triumph return to the stage recently at a Vancouver club called The Cobalt Cabaret.
Lead singer Colleen Rennison definitely reminds me of Janis Joplin. The bands performance made me feel like I was instantly teleported back the late 1960s and I was watching Janis Joplin jam with Jimi Hendrix. I’d describe their new music as classic rock esq with a honky tonk twist.
Its like something out of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, It’s a little different but in this case change is good.
I’m glad to see a band like No Sinner keeping the spirit of some of the greats alive. I think Janis and Jimi would be proud!
Its been about three years since their debut album “Boo Hoo Hoo came out and even though there was a long delay with their sophomore effort “Old Habit’s Die Hard”
There seemed to be no signs of rust. Songs like “All Woman” and “Saturday Night” are certainly proof that they can still make magic and hidden gems that can listened to and discovered for years to come.
This may sound corny but to quote AC/DC, "For those about to rock to rock I salute you"
